Cameroon, 100 750 Solar Street Lamps
An agreement with Cameroon for 100 750 solar street lamps. The United Municipalities and Cities of Cameroon (CVUC) and Sunna Design are joining forces to deploy autonomous lighting
In order to enhance solar energy in Cameroon, the government recently signed an agreement with China to carry out feasibility studies aiming at installing several light points in Yaoundé . Recently, Cameroon obtained eKiss (energy-keep it simple and safe) mobile off-grid photovoltaic systems from Antaris Solar .
Cameroon, September 2022: The price of electricity is 0.083 U.S. Dollar per kWh for households and 0.153 U.S. Dollar for businesses which includes all components of the electricity bill such as the cost of power, distribution and taxes.
S far, Cameroon has a total installed solar power capacity of around 1.3 GW and a population of 24 million people. The world's 53rd largest country, Cameroon is located between 2°–13° North latitude and 8°–16° East longitude. As a consequence, it has moderate to high levels of Global Horizontal Irradiation.
Mas'ud et al assessed the solar energy readiness in Cameroon by highlighting the irradiation pattern across the country. Abanda underscored that the mean solar irradiance is roughly 5.8 kWh/m2/day in the northern regions, while it's in the range of 4.0–4.9 kWh/m2/day in the southern regions of the Country.
