Pakistan's power potential includes: more than 300,000 MW from wind and about 51,700 MW from hydropower. This much renewable energy can be effectively employed to increase electricity generation and meet the demand.
The Ministry of water and power is the supreme association of the government for maintaining the generation, transmission, and distribution within the power sector organizations in Pakistan.
Approximately 50,000 MW of solar power is available in Pakistan. The most suitable locations for solar power generation are the north-eastern part of Sindh and the south-western part of Baluchistan, which receive approximately 2500 hours of sunlight for about 8–10 hours per day and 2400–2800 hours per annum.
In Pakistan, $ 46 billion will be spent on infrastructure, with 80% of the investment going towards strengthening the power infrastructure. Additionally, a network of railways, roads, and business hubs is planned with the development of Gwadar as a port.
